Ozone Therapy

What is Ozone Therapy?
Ozone Therapy is an alternative therapy that increase the oxygen levels in the blood through ozone.  With steam therapy, ozone is absorbed through the skin which then enters the bloodstream enabling your congested tissue and organs to clear waste, toxic stores, viruses, bacteria, yeast, mould, fungal and parasites.  These toxins leave the body through the colon, lungs, kidneys and the skin.
Post-Treatment Care
Ozone Therapy starts the process of decongesting and rebalancing the body which will continue for about 3 days after your session.  Ozone will actively penetrate the bloodstream about 2 hours after your session, therefore one should not wash your skin for those 2 hours. Light to moderate exercise, sunlight, lots of water and fresh food will take the stress of the body as you go through the detox period.  Dealing with emotions and managing stress will support the immune system during this time.

Ozone promotes vitamin and mineral absorption, so ensure that you take a good supplement daily.  Avoid Vitamin C directly after your Ozone Therapy. Ozone Therapy is not safe to use during pregnancy, if you have any heart conditions or 2 to 3 months after major surgery.

The Healing Crisis
When the toxins and waste are dislodged, the body begins to flush them into the bloodstream to be filtered and eliminated.  This sudden circulation of toxins can temporarily impact your wellbeing and symptoms of illness (sweating, fever, discomfort, etc.) may occur.

Often the detox discolours the towels and gives an indication of where the weakened sick cells have been cleared in the body.  Ozone can be used as a health maintenance program even if you are not suffering from any ailments.

Side Effects of Ozone Therapy
Below are some side effects that can be experienced after Ozone Therapy:

  • Accidental inhalation of ozone may lead to symptoms such as burning eyes, coughing, nausea or vomiting, or mild headache in very sensitive individuals.
  • Headache, stiffness, nausea, thirst and feeling tired and agitated are all symptoms of detoxification and in time will pass.
  • Patients who experience a “healing crisis” or detoxification can experience flu-like symptoms. These symptoms will subside on continuation of therapy.  This is not a side effect but rather a natural healing process of the body.

 

How Often Can One Have Ozone Therapy?
It is recommended to have Ozone Therapy 2 to 3 times a week.  A typical course will consist out of 10 to 20 sessions, depending on your health requirements and current conditions.  In general, Ozone Therapy should be repeated every 3 to 6 months.

What to Bring along

For your session, please bring along either old swimwear or underwear to wear during the treatment as well as 2 old towels.  One towel to sit on which can also be used to dry yourself off after your treatment and a smaller towel to wrap around your neck to prevent the ozone from escaping.  Please bring along drinking water for before and after your session.
